Mansfield's Imprimitivity Theorem for Arbitrary Closed Subgroups
نویسنده
چکیده
Let δ be a nondegenerate coaction of G on a C∗-algebra B, and let H be a closed subgroup of G. The dual action δ̂ : H → Aut(B×δ G) is proper and saturated in the sense of Rieffel, and the generalised fixed-point algebra is the crossed product of B by the homogeneous space G/H . The resulting Morita equivalence is a version of Mansfield’s imprimitivity theorem which requires neither amenability nor normality of H .

Regularity of Induced Representations and a Theorem of Quigg and Spielberg Astrid an Huef and Iain Raeburn
Mackey’s imprimitivity theorem characterises the unitary representations of a locally compact group G which have been induced from representations of a closed subgroupK; Rieffel’s influential reformulation says that the group C-algebra C(K) is Morita equivalent to the crossed product C0(G/K) × G [14]. There have since been many important generalisations of this theorem, especially by Rieffel [1...
متن کاملA Mackey Imprimitivity Theory for Algebraic Groups *
Let G be an affine algebraic group over an algebraically closed field k and let H be a closed subgroup of G. If V is a rational H-module (a comodule for the coordinate ring of H) there is a now well-known notion of an induced module VI G for G, defined as the space Morph/~(G, V) of all H-equivariant morphisms from G to a finite dimensional subspace of V, with obvious G-action. The question aris...
متن کاملON SUBGROUPS OF M24. II: THE MAXIMAL SUBGROUPS OF M2i
In this paper we effect a systematic study of transitive subgroups of M24, obtaining 5 transitive maximal subgroups of M24 of which one is primitive and four imprimitive. These results, along with the results of the paper, On subgroups of M2i. I, enable us to enumerate all the maximal subgroups of M24. There are, up to conjugacy, nine of them. The complete list includes one more in addition to ...
متن کاملCrossed Products by Dual Coactions of Groups and Homogeneous Spaces
Mansfield showed how to induce representations of crossed products of C∗algebras by coactions from crossed products by quotient groups and proved an imprimitivity theorem characterising these induced representations. We give an alternative construction of his bimodule in the case of dual coactions, based on the symmetric imprimitivity theorem of the third author; this provides a more workable w...
متن کاملPositive Definite Measures
In this paper we prove two theorems relating positive definite measures to induced representations. The first shows how the injection of a positive definite measure on a topological group H into a containing locally compact group G in which H is closed gives rise to induced representations. The second is another version of Mackey's imprimitivity theorem, along the lines of Loomis' proof [5]. We...
